Katmandu Journal
Digital journalism and media publishing platform built from scratch on WordPress for readers in Nepal, featuring clean editorial layouts, categorized news sections, web hosting setup, and speed and security optimization.
Katmandu Journal is an independent digital journalism and media platform in Nepal covering national politics, economic analysis, policy updates, and long-form commentary. Working on this as a freelance project, I built the katmandujournal.com WordPress platform from the ground up to give writers and editors a clean, reliable publishing system and readers a smooth reading experience.
I started by handling the complete web hosting and domain setup, configuring the server environment, DNS records, and SSL certificates so the publication launched on a fast and stable foundation. Because a journalism website depends on readability and clear organization, I planned the page strategy around clean editorial layouts, structured article categories, author profiles, and newsletter signup pathways so visitors can browse breaking stories and in-depth opinion pieces without clutter.
Once the Katmandu Journal platform went live, I managed ongoing website maintenance, server and application security optimization, and Core Web Vitals speed optimization so articles and images loaded quickly across mobile phones and desktop devices. I also configured Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager to track search visibility, article readership, and reader engagement accurately.
